General Info

BOETEK™ Static Control 52-AS is a specialized formulation of Polyamide-Imide (PAI) polymer engineered for demanding applications that require controlled electrostatic performance, exceptional dimensional stability, high strength and stiffness, and outstanding thermal resistance, capable of continuous service temperatures up to 500°F. It is well-suited for semiconductor, electronics, and precision test and handling applications.

This polymer has a surface resistivity range of 10^10 to 10^12, placing it in the antistatic range. It helps suppress electrostatic charge buildup during assembly, testing, and packaging operations while maintaining mechanical integrity, reducing the risk of electrostatic interference and unintended human contact with static charge.

BOETEK™ Static Control 52-AS is compression molded and fully imidized and annealed, providing excellent dimensional stability during and after machining. These characteristics make it ideal for intricate CNC-machined components such as test sockets, nests, fixtures, and other critical electronic and semiconductor device handling parts.

Available in sheet, rod, and tube for precision machining for critical components in electronics and semiconductor applications. See the Available Sizes Tab for more information on shapes and sizes.

Key Properties

  • Surface resistivity 10^10 to 10^12 Ohm/Square (Antistatic Range)
  • Thermal performance to 500°F (260°C) Continuous Use
  • High Strength & Heat Resistance
  • Low CLTE

Limitations

  • PAI materials have a relatively high moisture absorption rate, parts used in high temperature service or made to tight tolerances should be kept dry prior to installation.
  • Thermal shock resulting in deformation can occur if moisture laden parts are rapidly exposed to temperatures above 400°F (205° C).
  • Chemical Resistance to Strong Bases, Steam and Some High Temperature Acids

Applications

  • Back End Test Contactors
  • Back End Test Equipment Nests
  • Back End Test Equipment Sockets
  • Device Handling Components
  • Electronic Assembly Components

Resin Trade Names

Manufacturer Trade Names

  • BOETEK™ Static Control 52-AS PAI

Boedeker Plastics, Inc. stocks & supplies plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and custom profiles and machine parts from these shapes that are produced from plastic resin. In many cases the manufacturer of the shape has their own product trade name. If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.

Available Sizes

The product is available in rod, tube, and plate. Sheet / Plate Sizes Thicknesses from 0.375 to 2.500 inches Sizes 12.000 x 12.000 and 12.000 x 24.000 inches Rod Sizes Rod Diameters 1.000 to 4.000 inches Rod Lengths 4.000 to 8.000 inches Tubes Tube Outside Dimensions 1.750 OD to 24.000 inches OD Tube Lengths 1.000 to 8.000 inches, depending on OD and ID.
